Gina & Fin’s Spring Wedding

Gina and Fin’s wedding, in April 2024, was a wonderful way to celebrate at the beginning of spring in their beautiful gardens at home in Surrey. They were surrounded by spring flowers, the beds were filled with tulips setting a stunning backdrop for the marquee overlooking the lake.

The flowers were the star of the show, and the wonderful florist Vanessa from Sage and Co tied together the garden blooms with the flowers she brought in to decorate the elegant Sail & Peg marquee. The arrangements filled the canvas ceiling of the marquee, with ivy trailing out from the centre and rattan lanterns hanging between the king poles. Colour was key at this wedding, oranges and pinks lined the tables and the couple brought a hint of Gina’s childhood to the table with the exotic blue napkins as a nod to living in Hong Kong. The tablescapes were brought together by stationary designed by the wonderful Neon Nib.

As with any British spring day, a few showers threatened throughout, but a stretch tent from Great British Stretch Tents accommodated the reception and a lovely selection of furniture and green cushions from BeSeated Hire.

Their menu incorporated the best of the season, with wild garlic and asparagus featuring on the canapé menu in the Tomato Tart Tatin with Wild Garlic Pesto, and the White Crab Meat, Asparagus and Jerusalem Artichoke  on a Crispy Tostada Base. A starter of Roasted Red Peppers and Isle of Wight Tomatoes  With Harissa, Crispy Chickpeas, Toasted Buckwheat, Whipped Ricotta, Jeusalem Artichoke Crisp was followed by a main course of Fillet of Beef  With Peppercorn Sauce, Potato and Wild Garlic Terrine, Roasted Asparagus and Lambs Lettuce.

The evening was fuelled by an English Garden cocktail and Dark n Stormys, and the electric House of Ellington band kept the energy high until carriages.

The weekend didn’t finish there, on Sunday the sun came out as the guests returned for an informal BBQ by the lake, Harissa Marinated Chicken Supreme s With Lemon Aioli  and Whole Roast Chalk Stream Trout  With Leek Aioli  were served with a selection of spring salads and the Bloody Marys and rosé were flowing.

It was such a special wedding that we were so happy to help plan and be a part of for Gina and Fin, and it was an epic start to our 2024 wedding season!
