Outdoor WEDDING cerEmonies

At Doggart & Squash weddings, we are seeing an increase in the desire for outdoor ceremonies. They offer a unique and simple way to celebrate, using nature as a backdrop - perfect for those seeking a less traditional ceremony. With the open sky and fresh air, these ceremonies often feel more relaxed and informal, while still maintaining a special celebratory atmosphere.

Here is an insight into a couple of the outdoor ceremonies we’ve loved over the last few years.

Cece & Charlie

Cece and Charlie’s ceremony took place in an ancient woodland on the grounds of Wilderness Reserve. One of the greatest advantages of a woodland ceremony is that nature does much of the decorating. Figa & Co did a great job of enhancing the woodland setting with floral meadows along the aisle, which then led into the marquee. Their design tied the outdoor elements seamlessly into the overall space, creating a natural flow that worked well with the surroundings.

Maizie & Jack

On one of the hottest September weekends Maizie and Jack tied the knot with one of our favourite celebrants, Fi Tillard, in the gorgeous grounds of West Green House. We initially planned for their ceremony to take place in the beautiful greenhouse in the gardens, but with temperatures in the late 20’s we had a last minute change and the wisteria clad house acted as the backdrop. Maizie walked through the rose garden and down the aisle to where some ancient oak trees offered the perfect shade from the sunny day.

Georgia & Charlie

In June 2024, we had the privilege of being part of Charlie and Georgia’s unforgettable wedding in West Sussex. The weather certainly kept us on our toes, shifting from rainstorms to bursts of sunshine, but it only added to the charm of the day. Guests embraced the unpredictable weather, opening their umbrellas and fully immersing themselves in the spirit of the celebration.
