C & C’s Friday Night Fire Feast
In August this year, we had the privilege of planning a truly special wedding for Cece & Charlie, hosted at the Wilderness Reserve in Suffolk. The celebration unfolded over three unforgettable days, kicking off by welcoming their 250 guests to a Fire Feast hidden up in the woods above Sibton Park. The Fire Feast was expertly hosted by the incredible team at Wilderness with their expert chefs over the fire.
Once the guests had arrived and settled in to their accommodation for the weekend, they made their way up along the winding, lantern lit path leading deeper into the woodland, where they were welcomed with a crisp glass of Laurent-Perrier Champagne, setting the tone for a night filled with celebration.
Guests were treated to a carefully curated set menu, showcasing the finest seasonal ingredients, all cooked to perfection over huge open fire pits. To start, guests enjoyed tiger prawns dressed with chorizo and parsley, alongside tender lemon and rosemary chicken, all served with homemade flatbreads. For the main course, the highlight was a perfectly grilled Tomahawk steak with chimichurri, and a delicate salmon fillet cooked on a cedar plank, served with samphire, capers, and a hint of lemon. Sides included charred tenderstem broccoli and hispi cabbage with a kick of chili and garlic, as well as roasted new potatoes with chervil, completing this unforgettable feast in the woods. The meal was rounded off with caramelised peaches, topped with raspberries and vanilla yoghurt.
The feast was certainly one of the highlights of the weekend, and the evening brought the close family together under starlit skies, with crackling fires and hearty, delicious food, setting the scene for a weekend full of celebrating in style.
