As you embark on the exciting journey of planning your wedding we are here to help you through the process just as we did with Maizie and Jack. We have put together a step-by-step guide with real-life tips and experiences to make your journey as smooth as possible.

Once you have finished celebrating your engagement, it is time to delve into the details. This is the opportune moment to reach out to our team here at Doggart & Squash to allow enough time to help curate your ideal day. Our event planners are excellent at handling all the details whilst our chefs are busy crafting a menu that you and your guests will love.
First things first is the date. It will come as no surprise that other people may be wanting to get married on the same date as you so give us a call or an email to get this booked in as soon as possible! Once we have a date that works for the both of us we will then establish your venue or marquee’s availability. We’ve now got the ball rolling! Maizie and Jack chose to get married at Maizie’s family home in Hampshire using a Tents N Events sail cloth marquee.
TIME TO GET SUPPLIERS BOOKED IN
So now you’ve got your date locked in and chosen your venue its time to consider some additional suppliers to help bring the wedding you’ve been dreaming of into reality. Maizie and Jack chose the wonderful Sage & Co as their florist. Vanessa and her team nailed the brief of ‘Petersham Nurseries’ with terracotta pots of herbs on the tables, and garlands of greenery filling the ceiling of the open-sided marquee. Our planners know lots of florists personally, who can tailor the floral arrangements and table decorations to meet your budget and vision.
The next thing to think about, and some may say the most important aspect - the catering! Look no further! Come in and see us for a tasting to discuss your menu with our chefs and planners and curate the perfect dishes for you and your guests. Maizie & Jack chose a seasonal menu to match their garden wedding back in September.
They started with a very fitting Summer Garden Salad with Ricotta, Dehydrated Olives, Nasturtium Pesto, Heirloom Tomatoes, Cucumber and a Tomato Vinaigrette. Their main course was Slow Cooked Moroccan Lamb with Pomegranate, Tahini Yoghurt and Tabbouleh accompanied by Roasted Ginger Tomatoes and Chargrilled Aubergine. To finish the meal our chef Annabel baked a beautiful Lemon and Elderflower Wedding Cake which we served with Berries, Cream and our signature Espresso Martini shots!
Every good party needs good music - Our team have worked with numerous bands and DJ’s over recent years. One of our favourites, House of Ellington and LDN Entertainment performed at Maizie & Jack’s wedding creating an unforgettable atmosphere until the early hours.
And then of course make sure you secure your photographer early! Chloe Winstanley skillfully captured Maizie & Jack’s wedding day surrounded by all their friends and family. It is so worth finding a photographer you trust to document your day exactly as you envision it.
THE INTRICATE DETAILS
With the larger aspects in place, it’s time to focus on the fun intricate details. Embellishing the Ordinary created personalised stationery bringing Maizie and Jack’s table design to life. The couple added various personal touches to their day including using tambourines as each guests name place, so their entrance to the marquee was a wonderfully noisy spectacle!
Maizie and Jack had been looking for a beautiful centre piece for their marquee and The Drunken Jockey’s didn’t disappoint. Their eye catching floral panelled bar tied up the garden theme perfectly and gave the wedding a unique touch.
